Give Christmas thanks this year

Can you donate £20 to give a member of staff a care package this Christmas?

With Christmas approaching we are reminded that this time of year is for giving and being thankful for the people in our lives.

This year we want to take this opportunity to say thank you to our staff, again. Last year your generosity helped us raise over £1000 to turn into care packages for the staff showing our gratitude for the work they do.

With the covid pandemic continuing to impact our lives we want to be there for our staff, as well as the babies and children we rescue. Since the pandemic life in Kenya has become very expensive and getting the essential items has become a luxury for many.

Without our staff we could not continue rescuing and giving new life to abandoned babies in Kenya. They continue to work day-in and day-out to care for the physical, medical and developmental needs of our little ones, in addition to providing social and legal support.

Hear from a couple of the staff who have shared with us their thanks and the difference these care packages have made to them during these difficult times:

Robbie

I work at New Life Home Trust in the housekeeping department. I have worked for three years in this organization.Robbie in the kitchen

Since the pandemic hit the nation, life has not been the same, first there was fear of contracting the virus, fear of the unknown, closure of companies and institutions also brought uncertainty for the future. I thank God that New Life Home Trust as an organization did not close, neither did it fire me or my collogues. My/our salary was intact and on time. I want to thank the Management for securing my job and further caring for our families through care packs we received. As a parent and a mother this came in handy as my family’s immediate needs were met, through the salaries and the staff care pack. Not forgetting that this is also made a way for me to be able to cater for my children’s education keeping in mind that this has also been a struggle. Since the schools opened in January though I am able to come to work happy and doing my work very well knowing that New Life cares and values me (us).
Thank you for being there for us!

Joy

I am Joy working at New Life Home Trust as a supervisor for the Kilimani home. I have worked here for 22 years. I thank God for His protection throughout this paJoy lifting a childndemic season. It has been a journey of faith, coming to work everyday with public means with the risk of contracting the virus there and further infecting my family, since for them they had limited movement following the directives from the government. But all in all, God has been faithful.

Working at New Life Home Trust, especially during these trying times, has made me realize I am valued. New Life has been there not only for the babies we care but for staff too. Not only did we receive our salaries on time; there was also a staff care pack that I received including masks for every day I report to work. This was such a relief, since life had become so expensive, and the basic needs were just a luxury to have. I thank God that New Life took care of these needs, and this motivated me to work better.

I work at New Life Home Trust –as a caregiver. I have worked here for 25 years. New Life home has been like a second home for me. Due to the Covid 19 pandemic, so many things have been adjusted and we had to adjust our lives too. I thank God for NLHT as it did not shake instead it gave us a conducive environment to work, by making sure we were trained on Covid 19, provided sanitizers and masks and to facilitate for all the staff to be vaccinated. For this thumbs up. To add on that, none of us (staff) were terminated, our salaries were on time and a surprise staff care pack which came in handy. For this it gave me a relief that I will be able to feed my family and my children will not miss school. As for whatever I had budget for food and other stuff, it was added to pay school fees.

Please help us show our appreciation by donating this Christmas. Anything you can spare would be gratefully received just quote the reference ‘Christmas Campaign’ when making a donation.
